Netflix's hit Korean thriller was released early in September and no one has shut up about it since. The reviews have been stellar, the public response has been hysteric and even a month later it still seems to be breaking headlines every day.
As of Wednesday (October 13), Squid Game is officially the most-watched Netflix series in history. An impressive 111 million accounts have logged onto the streaming giant to binge the show, smashing the previous leader Bridgerton which was watched by 82 million accounts.
"One of the most beautiful series I've ever seen, finished in a few days one episode led to another, and the desire to follow the series increases more and more. The tension is built very well game by game and the main characters are really well developed," wrote one IMDB user who rated the show 10 out of 10.
"Fly Me to the Moon Let me play among the stars Let me see what spring is like on A Jupiter and Mars In other words, hold my hand In other words, baby, kiss me," wrote another, hinting at the show's use of music.
They continued: "Now imagine listen to that calming jazz melody, sipping some wine, and watching more than 400 people getting murdered playing some kid's games."
So basically, drop whatever you are doing, load up Netflix and don't expect to move for at least the rest of the evening.
