White House press secretary Katie Zacharia has been fired after five days in the position, as per reports.
Zacharia had a tough start to life in the role, hosting a briefing on Tuesday which caused a lot of criticism and raised a number of questions.
One of these concerned her legal qualifications - when asked what state she passed her bar exam in, she replied: "When I moved to China."
The New York Times has since reported that Zacharia has been fired while Fox News said she was “transitioning out” of the role.
Before her dismissal was announced, Trump had told her she should "reconsider" her job.
Trump told reporters: "I said Katie, you know you don’t have to do this if you don’t want.
"If I were you I'd reconsider."
