Someone posed for a selfie with the ‘EgyptAir hijacker’ during the hostage situation

JOE

And they say we’ve become desensitised.

You know the drill, you’re on a plane, looking to enjoy a holiday in Cairo… All of a sudden, your plane is hijacked by a guy with a suicide belt. What do you do?

There’s only one answer here, and that answer is make the most of this photo opportunity and get a photo with the guy who’s threatening to take you hostage.

After all, if you make it out alive (which, luckily, everyone did) you’re going to want some proof for everyone back home.

This is what one guy seemingly did when he found himself in the middle of a mid-air hostage situation.

This photo purportedly shows the unidentified guy grinning alongside the alleged hijacker in what appears to be a ‘suicide vest’.

It came after the Cairo-bound flight MS181 was diverted and forced to make an emergency landing and a number of passengers were held hostage.

All on board were eventually released unharmed and a man was arrested at the scene.

We really wouldn’t advise asking for a selfie if you find yourself in a similar situation.
