Sunderland manager Sam Allardyce has confirmed that Adam Johnson will not face Manchester United at the weekend.
Johnson pleaded guilty to two child sex charges on Wednesday and will be on trial for a further two child sex charges with a 15-year-old girl, starting on Friday.
Having confirmed that the winger would not face United on Saturday, Allardyce was less clear about whether he would feature in the future.
"I don't know," Allardyce said. "Just this weekend and we see how it goes after that."
Sunderland will not be commenting on the matter until legal proceedings are completed.
