Russell Brand is being investigated over further rape allegations after he was found guilty of one count of rape and three counts of sexual assault today.
Brand was found guilty of these charges at Southwark Crown Court after a trial during which the jury heard testimony from complainants and witnesses, as well as Brand himself.
The 51-year-old was accused of seven offences spanning 10 years of his career from 1999 to 2009.
Brand denies all the allegations.
Following the guilty verdict, it was reported by the BBC that Brand is being investigated over further rape allegations being made by two women.
The Metropolitan Police said its investigation "remains ongoing".
He has already been questioned by officers in relation to the accusations.
In a statement the force said: "The suspect has previously been interviewed under caution in connection with the allegations."
"Detectives remain in close contact with prosecutors as enquiries continue and further investigative work is carried out."
Following today's verdict relating to different accusations, the judge told Brand that he should expect a "custodial sentence of some length" and remanded him in custody.
"You’ve been convicted of a number of offences including rape.
"The consequence of that is inevitably a significant custodial term.
"My current view is that I therefore have to remand you into custody."
Sentencing will take place on Monday.
Updates to follow.
