QAnon supporters think Oprah was wearing an ankle monitor during interview

There have been whole host of questions and discussions raised as a result of the now famous Oprah/Meghan interview, but this is almost certainly the stupidest one yet

Supporters of QAnon, the far-right conspiracy theory group best known for believing that a secret group of Satan-worshipping paedophiles was plotting against Trump throughout his time in office, have come up with their latest wild theory surrounding the much talked about interview.

They have claimed that Oprah was in fact wearing an ankle tag during the interview. The idea was first posed on the Telegram messaging app by the popular QAnon channel We The Media.

Newsweek reports that the channel shared a photo of Oprah’s boots to its follower base of almost 200,000, captioned with the question ‘Oprah Ankle Monitor?’ Unsurprisingly the question was met with widespread agreement from followers.

Telegram user Roxanne F. wrote: “So obvious, first few minutes she was strategically keeping both her feet behind that little table then got comfortable or forgot about need to conceal it … she should fire the camera man.” Meanwhile others chose to debunk the idea that it was a microphone pack.

Discussions surrounding the supposed ankle tag have reportedly been had on the Q-Tip and Qtah Telegram channels as well, and some on Twitter have even asked the question surrounding the suspicious bulge on Oprah’s ankle.

Of course none of them have chosen to address the theory that it may simply be the way that the fabric of the shoe had creased. To be clear, there is absolutely zero evidence or basis for the idea that Oprah was wearing an ankle tag during the interview.

This has not been a good few days for QAnon and their followers. Their prediction that Donald Trump would return to power on March 4th did not materialise, with some going as far to predict Trump would be ‘sworn in as the true leader of the New Republic’ with John F. Kennedy Jr. acting as his ‘second in command’. Needless to say, they were left disappointed by what actually occurred: nothing.
