A pilot on a flight bound for London Heathrow has declared a "bomb threat" this afternoon, forcing the RAF to scramble two jets, as reported by the Daily Mail.
The Air India pilot made the call as it approached London reporting that there is a "bomb threat" on board the Boeing 777 jet.
The Mail reported that RAF jets appeared to have been scrambled following the suspected bomb on flight AIC129 from Mumbai to London Heathrow.
The Typhoon fighter jets reportedly intercepted the plane in the air due to an active bomb threat alert being in place.
In a clip, the pilot can be heard saying: "There is a suspected bomb on board, requesting landing sir. We have a bomb threat. Air India 129 is requesting this."
There has been a string of hoax bomb threats on Indian airlines in the past week with more than a dozen fake threats being made, prompting government and civil aviation authorities to warn that 'very strict action' will be taken.
