The latest updates on Nintendo Switch 2 stock in the UK
The much-anticipated Nintendo Switch 2 is being released in June and this is the latest stock update from major UK retailers.
The gaming brand revealed earlier this year that the console is coming out on 5 June during a Nintendo Direct live event.
Nintendo also launched pre-orders on 8 April, with a number of retailers including Amazon and Currys selling out due to demand.
But now that the initial rush for pre-orders has ended there are still a number of ways to secure a Nintendo Switch 2 in time for its release date.
Some of its features include new magnetic Joycon controllers, a ‘C’ button that will pull up the chat menu and you can communicate with friends while playing as well as 7.9-inch screen and 256GB of internal storage – eight times that of the original Switch.
They also confirmed Mario Kart World will be released exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2.
The new game will allow players to drive off the race track and drive “virtually everywhere”, with 24 drivers in each race, which is the most in Mario Kart history.
It will be released on the same day as the new console as well as Street Fighter 6 and the Switch 2 editions of The Legend of Zelda of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and Breath of the Wild.
Following its official announcement a number of retailers launched landing pages for the Nintendo Switch 2 so fans could register their interest and pre-order the console or bundles.
This includes major UK retailers like Currys, EE and Amazon, who will be selling the much-anticipated console.
Below we’ve put together a guide of some of the biggest UK retailers to keep an eye on ahead of the Nintendo Switch 2 release.
Nintendo Store
The official Nintendo Switch website has pre-orders available for both the standalone console and bundle with Mario Kart World.
You can pre-order it exclusively online from website here, but you need to be a member to access the pre-order. Just sign into your account – or sign up if you’re a new member – and then head to the Nintendo Switch 2 page to pre-order.
It’s been confirmed that the price of the console will be £395.99 and a bundle with Mario Kart World will be priced at £429.99.
You can also pre-order the console from other retailers.
Currys
When the console was officially announced back in April, retailer Currys was allowing customers to register interest in their local store rather than online.
Since the initial rush, shoppers can now pre-order select bundles on the Currys website, with the standalone console currently “not available” for pre-order.
This pre-orders include the following:
- Nintendo Switch 2, Street Fighter 6: Year 1-2 Fighters Edition, Switch 2 Pro Controller & Switch 2 Camera Bundle – £569
- Nintendo Switch 2, Mario Kart World, Joy-Con 2 Wireless Controllers, Joy-Con 2 Wheels & Switch 2 Camera Bundle – Red & Blue – £569
They’ve also confirmed that collection is not available, instead pre-orders will be delivered on release day, 5 June.

Amazon
At the time of writing the Nintendo Switch 2 is “currently unavailable” on the Amazon website.
Following its initial announcement Amazon launched the page for the Nintendo Switch 2 bundle with Mario Kart World on the website here. They also launched a page for the standalone console here.
The online retailer allowed customers to request an invite to pre-order the console, with limited shoppers given access to pre-order on 8 April, with stock now sold out.
Amazon have said: “We don’t know when or if this item will be back in stock.”
You can keep an eye out on the Amazon website as they’re likely to release more stock in the run-up to the console’s release but they’ll sell out quickly.
EE
You can register your interest with EE here and spread the cost of the payment once its released.
EE also regularly does gaming bundles so you might be able to get the Nintendo Switch 2 with a new game. Plus you can trade in your old console and get some money back so you can make a saving.
