It’s set to be the final season

Netflix has released a teaser trailer for the third and final series of Netflix’s hit-Korean TV thriller Squid Game and fans have noticed one major change.

The second season came out in December, with many watching the show over the Christmas period all at once.

This binge-fest led to fans desperate for season 3 and they didn’t have to wait long to get a sneak peak.

In a teaser just released by Netflix, we see that ‘The Doll’ is set to stick about, but with a sinister new twist, she won’t be alone.

Synonymous with the ‘red light green light’ game, the animatronic which goes by the name of Young-hee was the last thing many contestants saw before meeting their demise in the brutal first round game.

Young-hee will now by joined by a male counterpart, Chul-su, who has left many fans wondering his role.

The new character was announced in the video with the caption “Everyone say hi to Chul-su. Squid Game 3 coming 2025.”

A video shared by Netflix on its ‘Still Watching Netflix’ YouTube channel explained the idea behind Chul-su.

It said: “As we find out over the course of the series, all the components of the games are rooted in South Korean childhood – specifically from the mid to late 1900s.

“Whether it be the games themselves, the set designs or the purpose behind it all.”

The clip added: “South Korean school textbooks had two fictional children as their main characters, Chul-su and Young-hee.

“They were used to teach Korean kids about morals, good behaviours and to learn how to read and write.”

Of course these two won’t have quite the same intentions and fans have already started to speculate about their role in the final season.

One said: “My theory is that there is going to be a Jack and Jill game like Red Light Green Light…you have to go to the top of the hill, it’s says green light…and if its says red light stop moving.”

Meanwhile another said: “My theory is that Chul-Su will stand behind the starting line, so the players cant hide, and Young-hee will stay behind the finish line, where she always was.”
