Man arrested following Millwall vs Everton disorder

The Met Police have confirmed the arrest of a man following the trouble between last month's Millwall vs Everton game

A man has been arrested following the widespread disorder which broke out before, during and after the FA Cup game between Millwall and Everton on January 26. A statement from the Met Police confirmed a 27-year-old man had been arrested on Tuesday February 5 on suspicion of wounding with intent, attempted grievous bodily harm (GBH), and violent disorder. The man has been bailed and is due to return to a police station in central London on Thursday February 28. The statement also adds that the arrest is in relation to the life-changing injury one man suffered to his face - believed to be the Everton supporter who posted a graphic image of his injury on Facebook last week. "The disorder which we witnessed on Saturday, 26 March was absolutely shocking," said Detective Sergeant Matt Simpson, from the Met's Public Order Investigation Team. "It involved dozens of people and last for a number of hours. "We are carrying out a large-scale investigation into the disorder, which left at least one person with a serious injury. "We have hours of CCTV and hundreds of images which we are closely reviewing, and we have a team of experts working to identify those involved. "In the very near future we will be issuing images of those we want to trace, and we will be asking for the media’s support in doing so. We are dedicated to identifying those involved, and bringing them to justice for the chaos and disruption they caused.
