Man allegedly kills friend during row over Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi

Who’s the better footballer: Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi? It’s a topic that’s divided football fans the world over for the best part of a decade.

Now though, it’s being reported that the debate has brought about the death of a man in India.

Spanish news agency EFE claim that a man killed his friend after an argument over which of the two players was the better player became heated.

The row is understood to have taken place between two Nigerian friends at a birthday party close to the Indian city of Mumbai.

34-year-old Obinna Michael Durumchukwa is said to have thrown a glass at Nwabu Chukwuma. After the missile missed him and smashed nearby, Chukwuma responded by using a shard of broken glass to cut his friend’s throat.

Chukwuma, 22, is now being detained by police.
