Emma Raducanu's stalker found guilty

He visited her home multiple times in December

Emma Raducanu‘s stalker has finally been arrested and found guilty of stalking and harassment following a hearing on Saturday, January 29.

The 35-year-old identified as Amrit Magar from Edgware was convicted at Bromley Magistrates’ Court with his sentencing due to be announced at a later date.

Magar was found to have stalked the 19-year-old tennis star for months, having visited her London home on multiple occasions in December, leaving cards and messages for her to find – one note read: “you deserve love”.

As per the Daily Mail, Magar is said to have decorated a tree in the family’s front garden, left a hand-drawn map plotting the 23 miles distance from his home to hers and to have even taken her one of her father’s shoes as a souvenir.

He was ultimately caught on CCTV footage taken from the family’s door camera security system; he was arrested and taken into police custody shortly after. Magar is said to be a former Amazon delivery driver, thought to be how he tracked down her address.

The British number one says she has “felt creeped out” ever since her stalker was discovered and feel comfortable leaving the house, “especially if I am on my own.”

She went on to add: “I feel like my freedom has been taken away from me. I am constantly looking over my shoulder. I feel on edge and worried this could happen again. I don’t feel safe in my own home which is where I should feel safest.”

Raducanu is now said to be looking to move somewhere else with better security as she fears he may return.
