Man asked by Fox News why he’s at Trump rally – gives greatest answer ever

This is absolutely fantastic TV.

You won’t often find us singing the praises of someone at a Donald Trump rally – but this is very justified exception.

On Thursday, Fox News were reporting from a Republican rally in South Carolina ahead of the crucial midterm elections next week.

Correspondent Lucas Tomlinson was looking to speak to some attendees to no doubt try and get some pro-Trump views out of them, and found a man called ‘Tom’.

But nothing could have Tomlinson for the answer he got when he asked the man why he was attending the event.

Tom said: “Well, in the late ’70s, I was a little too young to get involved and go to South America for the Jonestown Massacre, but this is as close as I’ll ever get, so that’s why I’m here.”

A somewhat confused Tomlinson double-checked with the interviewee if he was actually talking about the infamous mass murder-suicide orchestrated by cult leader Jim Jones in 1978, in which 918 died.

Tom confirmed that’s exactly what he was talking about, adding: “There’s nothing like seeing a cult right up front.”

It was at that point that Tomlinson realised he wasn’t going to get the answers he wanted from Tom, cutting him off and saying: “Alright. So maybe this is not a Trump supporter.”

Absolutely fantastic stuff.
