BREAKING

The upcoming series of Love Island All Stars has been forced to be postponed after its filming location in South Africa was evacuated due to wildfires.

It was announced earlier today that the villa had been evacuated due to wildfires with some producers hoping filming could still go ahead.

The new series was set to get underway next Monday, however, the area around the villa was deemed too dangerous to allow filming.

This has led to the show being postponed until further notice.

The news of the postponement was confirmed this evening (10 January) in an official statement on the Love Island Instagram.

The statement read: "Further to a production evacuation owing to ongoing wildfires in the area, our assessment of the location site has concluded that filming will need to be postponed.

"Health and safety is our greatest priority and will always come first, and therefore the transmission of Love Island All Stars will be delayed until a date to be confirmed."

The series was set to be the third in the 'All Stars' category, which sees former contestants return to the villa.

Love Island first aired on ITV2 in 2015 and has since become one of the UK’s most-watched reality TV shows.

The show has had a significant cultural impact in the UK since, averaging around 2.7million viewers per episode in the last series.

A date for when the 'All Stars' will start is yet to be confirmed.

A series of wildfires have been burning through parts of the Eastern Cape’s Kouga Municipality and several areas of the Western Cape.

These fires have forced evacuations, road closures, and disruptions.
