North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has issued the first nuclear threat of the new year, warning the United States that "The entire United States is within range of our nuclear weapons."
Not only that, but the leader who Donald Trump calls "Little Rocket Man," claimed that the nuclear button is on his desk. "a nuclear button is always on my desk. This is reality, not a threat. This year, we should focus on mass-producing nuclear warheads and ballistic missiles for operational deployment. These weapons will be used only if our society is threatened.”
The incendiary rhetoric follows several months of back and forth between the US and North Korea, which saw North Korea threaten to strike the US island of Guam with inter-continental ballistic missiles.
Going on past form, it seems safe to assume that we can expect another year of that kind of chat from the two volatile leaders.
