When asked about the possible outcome, the popular outgoing Daily Show host suggested that the Scottish National Party could act as kingmakers in the case of a hung parliament.
"I really think it's going to come down to the SNP. I think they're going to be the deciding vote - and England is going to secede from itself," he joked.
Stewart was gushing about the political process in this country - but found it ironic that we still ended up making the same mistakes as his native US.
"[Your coverage] is concise, clear-minded, and has no partisan rumblings - you have the institutions in place that we wish we had," said Stewart, before concluding, "...and yet you guys make the same stupid decisions we do!"
