Jason Momoa involved in ‘head on crash with motorcyclist’ in LA

Actor Jason Momoa has been involved in a "head-on crash with a motorcyclist" in LA, with officials saying that the injuries are "non-life threatening." The 42-year-old actor hit 21-year-old motorcyclist Vitaliy Avagimyan on Sunday (July 24) after he'd jumped lanes and collided with Momoa's car. According to California Highway Patrol, the Aquaman actor was not injured, and Avagimyan sustained "minor, non-life threatening injuries. The crash occurred at around 11:00 on Sunday on Old Topanga Canyon Road and saw the motorcyclist ejected from his seat. "The [rider] crossed over the double yellow lines into the eastbound lanes, directly into the path of Jason Momoa's vehicle." authorities said. "As a result of this collision, Avagimyan was ejected from his motorcycle. After the collision, Momoa exited his vehicle to assist Avagimyan and was able to flag down a passing motorist to call 911." Avagimyan was subsequently "transported by ambulance to Northridge hospital for medical treatment of minor, non-life threatening injuries." According to TMZ, Avagimyan had hit the vehicle front-on and rolled over its entirety before landing standing up on the other side. Momoa is no stranger to motorbike accidents himself, having ended up in the hospital earlier this year in what fans believe was a stunt gone wrong. He was filming the tenth instalment of the Fast and Furious franchise at the time and wrote on Instagram: "You got to break some eggs to make an omelette." "Oh no, hope it's nothing too bad," wrote one fan, while another added, "Oh my? What's happened? Get well soon." Even famous friends shared their thoughts and prayers, with Wonder Woman's Gal Gadot writing: "Oh no!" and Exodus guitarist Gary Holt adding: "Hope you're OK brother!"
