Hollyoaks actor Paul Danan passed away aged 46, with his cause of death being confirmed as being from a cocktail of drugs which included cocaine and heroin.
The inquest into his death resumed following an adjournment, and the coroner has ruled that Danan died as a result of misadventure.
He was pronounced dead on January 15 at his home in Bristol, after being found unresponsive on the sofa of his home in Bristol.
Danan was best known for his work as Sol Patrick on Hollyoaks, as well as his appearances on Celebrity Big Brother and Love Island.
Assistant coroner Deborah Rookes ruled his death as a result of misadventure
"Paul Danan was clearly much loved and is very much missed," she said.
"Mr Danan had a long history of drug misuse and struggles with his mental health.
"His death was caused by a combination of drugs, both prescription and illicit.
"I don't have any evidence before me that Paul intended to take his own life at this time.
"Therefore, the conclusion is misadventure."
At the inquest at Bristol Avon Coroner’s Court earlier this year, Coroner’s officer Alexis Camp revealed Danan’s provisional cause of death as a ‘combined toxicity of heroin, methadone, codeine, pregabalin, cocaine and zopiclone, with a secondary contributory finding of benzodiazepine’.
Camp added that she understands ‘there are no family concerns’ and said there was ‘no note left’.
The 46-year-old had previously been very open about his struggles with addiction, having previously entered rehab in an effort to try and recover.
Confirming his death in January, his management company, Independent Creative PR, said: “It is with heavy hearts that we share the tragic news of the passing of @pauldanan at just 46 years old. Known for his television presence, exceptional talent, and unwavering kindness, Paul was a beacon of light to many.
“His untimely departure will leave irreplaceable voids in the lives of all who knew him.
“During this difficult time, we kindly request respect and privacy for Paul’s family, friends, and colleagues.”
