Grandma, 83, reveals her two-year marriage to Egyptian toy-boy, 37, is over

She’s replaced him with a cat

A British grandma who hit headlines after revealing she was in a relationship with a man 46 years her junior has revealed it’s over.

Iris Jones made headlines after appearing on This Morning in September 2021 to tell her story about being married to Mohamed Ibriham, with the pair having first met in 2019.

At the time, Iris was 82-years-old and Mohamed was 35.

In November 2020 they got married in Egypt but were forced to spend almost a year apart due to Mohamed being unable to move to the UK as the Home Office needed proof of their relationship and details of Ibriham’s finances to grant him a spousal visa.

Eventually, Ibriham managed to move in with Jones in her bungalow near Weston-super-Mare in November 2021.

In particular, it was Iris’ openness about the sex she was having with the Egyptian that caught a lot of people’s attention, with the grandma famously saying in 2021 that she would spend Christmas day making love to her husband.

Sadly though, it looks like their nights of passion have come to an end.

Iris revealed to Closer that their relationship is over and that she wants to enjoy life in the slow lane now with her cat.

She said: “I never expected to fall in love with someone 46 years younger than me, but I did.

“I adored everything about Mohamed. But it became hard work.

“We used to have a great sex life but then, rather than making love, we ended up arguing all the time about anything and everything.

“I can’t be doing with that. I’m not a lovesick teenager. I’m 83.”

Iris picked up her cat, Mr Tibbs, just a few days after Mohamed moved out, and described the new pet as the “perfect companion” for her.

“He never complains, is very quiet and beautiful to look at – I adore him. And he’s very happy here and doesn’t create a mess,” she explained to Closer.

It doesn’t sound like she’s too hung up on the breakup either.

“I’m not missing Mohamed at all, the thing that annoyed me the most when he left was he took my tempura battered prawns that I’d planned for my dinner that night,” she revealed.

She’s a maneater.
