Grand Theft Auto is one of the most iconic games to have ever been made, and it seems that the next instalment of the franchise is near.
With GTA V being released in 2013, fans have been waiting years for a new version of the game.
News of GTA VI's development first came back in 2022, when Rockstar confirmed that they were working on the game.
However, in September of that year, footage of the new game was leaked, leading to even more excitement around its release.
Rockstar Games has teased the release of the official trailer for GTA VI in a post on X but now they've confirmed the day we will finally get to see the first glimpses of the new game.
They've announced that the first trailer release will drop on December 5 at 14:00pm UK time.
"In 1998, Rockstar Games was founded on the idea that video games could come to be as essential to culture as any other form of entertainment, and we hope that we have created games you love in our efforts to be part of that evolution," they wrote.
"We are very excited to let you know that in early December, we will release the first trailer for the next Grand Theft Auto.
"We look forward to many more years of sharing these experiences with all of you."
The news has already got fans on tenterhooks, with people having taken to social media to share their excitement at the prospect of the trailer.
"Now is the time to warm up the computer," one person wrote.
A second put: "Drop the game people died waiting literally."
While a third said: "It's gonna be the game of the century for sure."
Next month marks the 25th anniversary of Rockstar Games. Thanks to the incredible support of our players worldwide, we have had the opportunity to create games we are truly passionate about. pic.twitter.com/YaAxRVfZGe
