Gary Neville has called out the former Tottenham players who are criticising the club.

Spurs dropped points yet again on Monday night as they conceded a stoppage time equaliser to Everton as Michael Keane’s long-ranged effort cancelled out Harry Kane’s penalty.

Despite blowing another lead, Spurs still remain in the top four however fans have grown increasingly frustrated with the style of football and the failure to challenge for a major trophy once again.

Former Spurs players Jermaine Jenas and Jamie O’Hara were both disappointed with the viewing on show and aired their criticisms of the club.

Jenas said that he “can’t watch this team anymore” while O’Hara stormed out of his TalkSPORT show after a scathing assessment of the club.

He said: “What a joke! I’m boiling and I know Spurs fans are absolutely boiling.

“They are finished, they’ve got no character, they’re washed as a team. The quicker we get rid of all these bang average players and staff members and team the better Spurs are going to be.

“That sums up Spurs in a nutshell – what an earth are we doing? I’m sick of being a Spurs fan. I’m sick of it.”

While many would agree with their sentiments, Neville wasn’t so sure and called out the two, accusing them of being ironic given what they had achieved at the club.

“Interesting seeing ex-Spurs players that never got near to Champions League places for years when they played for the club saying they can’t watch this current team now. Spurs are in 4th place currently ahead of Chelsea , Manchester United and Liverpool. Perspective!” Neville tweeted.

Tottenham return to action on Saturday against high-flying Brighton before facing Newcastle United, Manchester United and Liverpool before the end of the season.
