The brother of Linda Nolan, Brian, has revealed that he has been diagnosed with cancer just weeks after her death.
Brian, 69, is the fifth of the eight Nolan sibling to be diagnosed with cancer, as he suffers with level 2 prostate cancer.
The Nolan family lost Beirne to breast cancer in 2013, before Linda passed back in January.
Anne was diagnosed in 2000 with breast cancer and Coleen learned she had skin cancer in 2023.
Speaking to The Mirror, Brian said: “I just want cancer to leave us alone.
“You’re never ready for somebody to say: ‘Yes, you’ve got cancer’.
"It’s like being hit by a train. You start plunging into the abyss of: ‘I’m going to die’.

"The urologist stood up and said, ‘We’re going to treat this, and we’re going to cure this’. I’m focusing on that and hope to God I can have the courage my sisters had.”
His sister Coleen was left stunned by the news, saying: "I couldn’t speak.
"I went completely numb and about an hour later I wanted to punch walls and scream. In our family, cancer’s just there.
"But he was so positive and I’m just so proud of him.
“We’re a family that treat everything with as much humour as possible and we go ‘OK, we can face this together.’ That’s what we’ll do.”
Linda died in January, aged 65, after a battle with breast cancer.
A statement from her agent said: “She passed peacefully, with her loving siblings by her bedside, ensuring she was embraced with love and comfort during her final moments. Linda’s legacy extends beyond her incredible achievements in music and entertainment.
“She was a beacon of hope and resilience, sharing her journey to raise awareness and inspire others. Rest in peace, Linda. You will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.”
