Experts say ditching your pants can help aid cooling and even boost sperm count

Doctors have recommended ditching your pants and going commando in an attempt to beat the rising heatwave temperatures – explaining that it’s actually full of benefits for both men and women.

As the weather outside gets sunnier, people across the UK are bracing for record breaking heat, with temperatures predicted to peak at an all-time high of 40C on Tuesday July 19.

As a result, a red weather warning has been issued for the first time ever, while experts have advised that we avoid excess alcohol and caffeine and only make “essential journeys” on the London underground.

However some other experts have suggested more inventive ways of beating the heat – namely, by removing your pants.

According to the Daily Star, medical experts have claimed that going about your day sans-underpants – or ‘going commando’ as it’s sometimes referred to – can have a host of health benefits. These include allowing perspiring skin to cool quicker and easier and even boosting the sperm count of men.

That said, they have advised that men be extra careful of the zippers on their pants if they do decide to ditch their undies.

“For better health in intimate parts, women should ditch underwear whenever they can and wear long dresses or skirts,” advised sexual health expert Samantha Evans, speaking to the Daily Star.

Meanwhile, Medical group Rush also added to the conversation, saying: “Skin is part of your body’s cooling system. Sweating cools the body and keeps its temperature in a healthy range.”

According to the website Healthline.com, going commando can even help men and women avoid nasty and uncomfortable fungal infections.

“Wearing tight underwear or undies that aren’t made of a breathable material, such as cotton, can retain moisture in your genital area and make it easier for yeast bacteria to grow,” explained the website, via Mail Online.

Still, those that do decide to ride out this heatwave au naturel have been advised to wash their clothes regularly, with the same site reminding readers that “genitals carry a lot of bacteria.”
