While neither are yet to be proved, the investigation has now hit a significant speed bump. The 48-year-old was found collapsed in his cell after having received head injuries. This was his second night in custody and was thought to have been alone at the time. It remains unclear how the assault took place but the Met are investigating the situation. After being rushed to hospital immediately, the suspect has now returned to custody. The Met said: "The suspect was taken to a hospital for treatment to a head injury sustained while in custody. "He has since been discharged and returned to custody. We are not prepared to discuss further."
