DJ Stephen ‘tWitch’ Boss, who was best known for his regular appearances on Ellen Degeneres’ talk show, has died aged 40, according to reports.

TMZ reports that Boss died in LA on Tuesday.

According to the publication, police were called to a hotel in L.A. after reports of a shooting. There, they found the 40-year-old, dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

These reports are as of yet unconfirmed.

Boss appeared on The Ellen Show from 2014 until it ended to 2022, becoming an executive producer from 2020.

The star broke into the industry in 2008, as a runner-up on So You Think You Can Dance, before starring in films Step Up and Magic Mike XXL.

His wife, Allison Holker, told People: “It is with the heaviest of hearts that I have to share my husband Stephen has left us.

“Stephen lit up every room he stepped into. He valued family, friends and community above all else and leading with love and light was everything to him.

“He was the backbone of our family, the best husband and father, and an inspiration to his fans.”

“To say he left a legacy would be an understatement, and his positive impact will continue to be felt.

“I am certain there won’t be a day that goes by that we won’t honor his memory. We ask for privacy during this difficult time for myself and especially for our three children.

“Stephen, we love you, we miss you, and I will always save the last dance for you.”
