National treasure and ex-footballer David Beckham has been admitted to a Los Angeles hospital after injuring his right arm.
A picture shared to his wife Victoria’s Instagram story, shows her husband laid in a hospital bed with his arm in a blue sling.
The fashion designer and former pop-star posted a second story showing David Beckham grasping a a friendship bracelet that reads ‘Get Well Soon.’
Beckham’s condition is not currently believed to be serious, as the former England and Manchester United winger can be seen smiling while laid in his hospital bed.
There is currently no confirmation as to what caused the injury, and neither of David or Victoria are yet to provide an update on the ex-footballer’s condition.
It has been suggested that an operation may have been required to correct surgery done to Beckham's arm after he broke his wrist in a game for England against South Africa in 2003.
Now, more than 20-years later, new scans are said to have shown there was a screw embedded in the wrist that was meant to have dissolved over time. This caused enough pain to send Beckham back to hospital for 'secret surgery' last night.
A source told The Sun: "David had been in pain for years but thought nothing of it."
"He just kept going until, in recent months, it became quite unbearable."
“Victoria was at his bedside post op and all went well. He’s in great spirits.”
Beckham’s arm injury comes at the end of a very successful week for for the former Real Madrid winger, after it was announced the 50-year-old would receive a knighthood in the King’s Birthday Honours just days ago.
He will become the second football-affiliated star to receive the honour this year, after Sir Gareth Southgate was knighted on Wednesday.
Beckham will hope to be out of hospital soon, as the MLS club he co-owns, Inter Miami are set to take on current Champions League winners Paris Saint Germian in a Club World Cup round of 16 tie on Sunday.
Beckham helped found Inter Miami after his retirement in 2013, and his role as co-owner came on the back of a football career that saw the Englishman achieve more than 100 England caps and play for some of Europe's greatest clubs.
Despite Inter Miami's recent success on the football pitch, and news of Beckham's impending knighthood, it hasn't been all sunshine and rainbows for the iconic couple over the last few weeks.
There has been news of an internal feud taking place right at the heart of England's favourite celebrity family, after Victoria and David's first-born son Brooklyn decided to skip his Dad's 50th birthday party last month.
Brooklyn has since missed the chance to celebrate news of his father being awarded a knighthood.
