A member of medical staff at St Thomas' Hospital has confirmed the sad news.
It has been confirmed that at least one woman has died as a result of a vehicle colliding with a number of pedestrians on a pavement section of Westminster Bridge.
The same source - described as a junior doctor at St Thomas' Hospital - has confirmed that a number of other individuals have been "hurt", with some "catastrophic" injuries.
Westminster remains on lockdown after what is being classed "terror attack" by the authorities until further information is ascertained. The attacker, said to be clutching a knife, was shot by the police. A police officer is being treated from stab wounds.
