Clarke Carlisle has been found safe, police confirm

Former footballer Clarke Carlisle has been found in Liverpool after being reported missing on Friday.

Reports of Carlisle's disappearance emerged on Friday morning with his wife, Carrie, tweeting that he was believed to have been in Manchester city centre at around 6am. This was followed by a police statement which indicated they were 'extremely concerned' for the 37-year-old. However, an tweet from Preston police was sent at 6:44 indicating that Carlisle had been found. 'Great news folks. Clarke Carlisle has been found safe in Liverpool. He later admitted that he had stepped in front of the vehicle because he "wanted to die". Since then, he has spoken about his own battles with mental health issues in a bid to raise awareness.
