Is this compliant with TfL’s passenger safety standards?

Police are looking for a black cab driver who dragged his unconscious passenger out of his taxi before driving away, leaving the man prostrate in the road.

CCTV issued by the City of London Police shows the driver drag the man out feet first, banging his head on the tarmac and injuring him as result at 6.01am on May 16 this year.

The cabbie is then shown returning to the scene and speaking to police but he failed to mention he was the man responsible.

An off-duty police officer discovered the unconscious man and called an ambulance to the scene which then took him to hospital.

PC Christopher Hook, from the City of London Police, said: “We would like to speak to anyone who witnessed this incident in May. To forcibly move a vulnerable person from your taxi and to leave them lying in the middle of the road is appalling and we need to find the man that did this.

“If you have any information on this incident, please call us on 0207 601 2222 and quote the reference number 2403.”

The video raises serious questions about passenger safety in the capital, Uber having had its license revoked by TfL for not meeting standards.
