Last year, Cosby was freed from prison after a decision from the Pennsylvania Supreme Court
The Supreme Court has said it will not be revisiting the sexual assault case against disgraced former comedian Bill Cosby, meaning that the decision by Pennsylvania's highest court to release him from prison will stay in place.
Last year, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court threw out Cosby's conviction on the grounds that the prosecutor who brought the case forward was bound by his predecessor's agreement not to charge Cosby for his multiple sexual assault accusations issued by a variety of women spanning a number of years.
The Supreme Court did not say anything in rejecting the case, with it simply being included in a long list of cases released on Monday which the court said it would not be hearing, ABC News reports.
A spokesperson for Cosby said he expressed "sincere gratitude to the justices" for the ruling, saying Cosby had been the victim of “a reprehensible bait and switch” by the prosecutor and trial judge in the case.

In 2018, Cosby was found guilty of drugging and molesting Temple University employee Andrea Constand in 2004.
Cosby spent almost three years in prison before Pennsylvania's high court ordered his release.
Cosby's lawyers have long argued that the disgraced entertainer had been promised he would not be charged when he gave a damaging testimony in an accuser's civil lawsuit in 2006.
His admissions in the civil case were later used against him in two trials.
But the office of Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin Steele said there was no evidence of any such legally binding agreement though, with his predecessor Bruce L. Castor Jr., never putting it in writing or telling anyone in his office about it.
