At least four people have died in an avalanche at the ski resort of  Tignes in France.

According to sources at the BFMTV channel, as many as nine skiers were buried in the snow during the incident. Tignes is a commune in southeastern France's Savoie department in the Rhône-Alpes region and one of Europe's most popular ski resorts. Rescue services are currently at the scene.
