Despite reports linking him with a move elsewhere, Özil is said to be happy in London and has also recently bought a new £10m home in the city. An extended stay at the Emirates appears to be looking more and more likely for the World Cup winner.
While the news on Özil is positive, Cross also goes on to say that things aren't quite so clear with Alexis Sanchez, who also has 18-months left to run on his deal with the club. The Chilean, who arrived from Barcelona a year after Özil, is said to be after a huge increase on his current £130,000-a-week wage packet.
