Andrew Tate breaks Twitter silence

He was arrested along with his brother by Romanian authorities

Andrew Tate has broken his silence on Twitter just hours after he was arrested in Romania on human trafficking and rape charges.

Late on Thursday (January 29), Tate was detained by Romanian authorities at his property in Pipera alongside his brother on suspicion of human trafficking and rape.

Prosecutors said he had been detained on suspicion of human trafficking, rape, and forming an organised crime group.

They said that they have found six women who claim to have been sexually exploited by the suspects.

Romania’s Directorate for Investigating Organized Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT) issued a statement, but did not name the Tate brothers, stating that two British citizens and two Romanian citizens were suspected of being part of a criminal group focused on human trafficking.

“We make it clear that during the entire criminal process, the investigated persons benefit from the procedural rights and guarantees provided by the Code of Criminal Procedure, as well as the presumption of innocence,” DIICOT said in the statement.

Now, the high-profile misogynist has said that “the Matrix” was responsible for his arrest.

He tweeted on Friday morning: “The Matrix sent their agents.”

This is not the first time Tate has mentioned ‘the Matrix.’ Earlier this month, he tweeted that ‘the Matrix’ were going to try and kill him.

He also claimed “the Matrix offered me money to sell my soul and aid the devil.”

Following his arrest, a spokesperson for Tate told the Daily Mail: “We cannot provide any details at the moment regarding alleged reports that they have been detained; however, Andrew and Tristan Tate have the utmost respect for the Romanian authorities and will always assist and help in any way they can.”

DIICOT says they raided five properties during their operation on December 29.

Tate, a former kickboxer, rose to fame in 2016 when he was removed from British TV show Big Brother over a video which appeared to show him attacking a woman.

The 35-year-old has gained notoriety this year because of his inflammatory and misogynistic views on women.

This includes videos where he has said that women should “shut the f**k up, have kids, sit at home, be quiet and make coffee,” that women are men’s “property” and that “18-year-old women are “more attractive than 25-year-olds because they’ve been through less d***.”

He has even gone as far to say that rape victims should “bear responsibility” for their attacks.
