All PlayStation owners to get free gift this weekend only

They are trying to make amends

The PlayStaion Network went offline last Friday and remained down for the entire weekend leaving users frustrated.

Though normal service resumed on Sunday evening, no explanation has been given as to why this happened.

This weekend only, in an attempt to make it up to customers, they will offer free PlayStation Plus to all users.

PlayStation Plus and all its perks will be available for free for the whole weekend.

Available from 13 February to the 15, all PlayStation owners will be able to access PS Plus and if you are already a PS Plus member, you will be rewarded five extra days for free.

The announcement said: “Join your friends online this weekend at no extra cost!

“From Thursday February 13 at 12:00am (local time) until 11:59pm on Saturday February 15, you’ll be able to enjoy online multiplayer for free.”

PlayStation users will be able to access games such as FC25, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and College Football 25 to name a few.

The news soon broke over on r/PlayStationPlus but not everyone appreciated the gesture.

One user wrote: "I'm really curious. Who buys COD but doesn't own at least PS+ Essential? Same goes for FC.

"People either buy it to play online or for couch PVP gaming and I'm sure the latter don't give a s*it about the online aspect of this game."
