“She’s now with Carrie and we’re all heartbroken.”
So said Todd Fisher to the Associated Press to confirm the sad passing of his mother Debbie Reynolds, a day after he lost his sister Carrie Fisher.
Reynolds was rushed by ambulance to Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre in Los Angeles after suffering a stroke on Wednesday, according to US news reports.
The legendary Hollywood actress was best known for her role in 1952 musical Singin’ In The Rain, starring opposite Gene Kelly. In 1965 she was nominated for an Best Actress Oscar for her part in The Unsinkable Molly Brown.
Her daughter Carrie Fisher died on Tuesday aged 60, following a cardiac arrest on a plane.
