Portal to another dimension? Remnants of a meteor shower? Just a really massive hole? There are many theories regarding the goings-on in St Albans.

The quiet Hertfordshire city is home to thousands of London commuters, but residents were greeted by a very strange sight as a sinkhole opened up just metres from a row of houses. Families have been forced to evacuate their homes, and when you watch the clip below you can see why.
