UK telecommunications company TalkTalk was hit by a significant cyber attack, and a teenager from Antrim has been arrested in connection with the crime.
The 15-year-old was taken into custody after an investigation by the Metropolitan Police cyber crime Unit, the PSNI and the British National Crime Agency.
It’s thought that the hacking was a major security breach of TalkTalk, and the personal information and bank details of an unknown number of their four millions customers may have been accessed.
The boy was was released on bail pending further inquiries and the investigation into the incident will continue in the coming days.
