The audience went wild as the actor's face appeared above them

Audience members at the VMAs got a rather strange surprise when Johnny Depp made a cameo appearance...sort of. MTV's Video Music Awards took place in front of a live audience in Newark, New Jersey on Sunday night. And there were a number of standout moments that took place throughout the evening. In another weird moment at the awards, Johnny Depp gave an electronic cameo as a spaceman. The actor's face was digitally superimposed on the helmet of MTV's famous floating astronaut mascot.
"I just want you guys to know that I'm available for birthdays, bar-mitzvahs, bat mitzvahs, weddings, wakes...anything old thing you need," he said as the crowd went wild. https://www.instagram.com/p/Ch0oealI2Tv/ The Pirates of the Caribbean star has been making his way back into the limelight following his high-profile defamation case against ex-wife and fellow actor Amber Heard. A jury in Fairfax County, Virginia, ruled that Heard, 36, defamed Depp, 59, by publishing an op-ed about being a sexual assault survivor in the Washington Post and awarded him $10 million in compensatory damages and $5 million in punitive damages. The punitive damages amount was later reduced to $350,000 in keeping with Virginia law. Heard was also defamed, the juror found, and she was awarded $2m. Earlier in August, thousands of pages of documents filed in the defamation trial between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard were unsealed, revealing several sensational claims that both sides tried to get presented to the jury. The documents included alleged text conversations between Depp and Marilyn Manson, who is accused of sexual abuse and grooming by a number of women, including Westworld actress and former fiancée Evan Rachel Wood, who he is suing for defamation. Depp's team also wanted to tell the jury about her "brief stint as an exotic dancer years before she met Mr. Depp," according to Heard's lawyers. They claimed this was an attempt by the Pirates of the Caribbean star to suggest his ex-wife had at one time been an escort. Related links:
