But not just any run-of-the-mill racer - this is Aston Martin's brand new £1.5m Vulcan.
It looks evil and it sounds evil.
It's so fast they won't let it anywhere near a public road and so exclusive that only 24 of the machines are being built.
Reporter Emma Simpson was the first passenger in this weapon of a car and as soon as it roared off all that BBC equanimity went straight out the window.
"Whoa! It's a rocket on wheels," she screams. "The acceleration is just incredible."
