Whether you like it or not, Christmas is just around the corner which means only one thing, the awakening of the commercial festive holiday promotion machine.
Shops and brands everywhere will once again be looking to gain the edge by tailoring their store or product to the joy of the most wonderful time of the year and McVities are no different.
The much-loved biscuit brand have announced that their 'festive edition' Gingerbread Digestives are set to return to shelves after a four year absence.
Not available since 2020, the gingerbread flavoured biscuits topped with milk chocolate were well received at the time, ranking in the top five of new product development (NPD) and contributed £1.2m in sales to big biscuit.
The Digestive variant will retail for £1.89 and make up part of a seasonal biscuit market that was worth £178m last year.
The tasty treat will be available across all stores at the end of September, although those too excited to wait will be able to pick up a pack from Sainsbury's slightly sooner.
Other returning favourites include the Jaffa Tree which made a successful debut last Christmas.
The product is a tree-shaped carton full of Jaff Jonuts and the standard Jaffa Cakes.
Jaffa Cakes are really capitalising on the festive season, making a comeback alongside the Jaffa Pole which features a special ‘Santa Stop Here’ sign activity with 40 Jaffa Cakes inside.
Exciting stuff, let Christmas come.
