Brace yourself for a summer cheatwave

Friday July 22nd has been pinpointed as the day married people are most likely to cheat on their partner. Dubbed 'Frisky Friday' by Illicit Encounters, the day has been identified as being particularly risky for couples because it is the last day before school holidays arrive and families start heading abroad. According to data released by the affairs site, a summer ‘cheatwave’ often strikes from July 1st, culminating at 'peak cheat' on the 22nd of the same month. The team say that signups for their site see a rise of 18 per cent in July, as cheaters grab one last chance for action before they head away on holidays in August. A survey of couples has unveiled the biggest reasons why extramarital affairs happen. It revealed that bad or more sex was a big factor, while being drunk was also up there.

Ten most common reasons women cheat:

Sex is bad at home I was drunk I went looking for excitement online I fancied a change Met someone at work Mismatched libido with partner Stranger came on to me Revenge for my partner cheating Monogamy is unnatural New Year, new me!

Ten most common reasons men cheat:

I was drunk and a chance came up I want sex more than my partner I get bored with sex with the same person New Year, new me! Met someone I liked at work My friends were cheating, too, and I decided to give it a try Revenge cheating I went online looking for fun Life’s too short to stick with one partner I like adding to my total of partners and keep a tally Commenting on the findings, 'sexpert' Jessica Leoni said: "Affairs activity shoots up by almost a fifth over the course of the month as cheaters grab one last chance for some action before the summer getaway. "There is a steady rise in the first three weeks of July and an explosion on Frisky Friday when so many couples will be getting it on in secret just as the school holidays start. "The pubs are always packed at this time of year with couples cheating and 2022 is the busiest year ever as we make the most of the new freedoms after Covid."
