EasyJet is launching a 28-day all-inclusive holiday which it claims is cheaper than staying in the UK for the same period of time. The travel company claims that its 'Escape the UK' holiday package to Egypt is more than £200 cheaper than what it would cost to live in the UK for the same period of time due to rises bills and prices.
Priced at £650 per person for an entire month, the all-inclusive bundle is at the five-star Stella Gardens Resort in Egypt and includes travel, accommodation, food and costly outgoings like broadband and gym membership.

With no fuel bills, petrol costs or grocery bills to pay whilst you’re sunning yourself, EasyJet claims the offer comes out a staggering £227 cheaper per person than staying in the UK according to ONS data.
Hurghada, on Egypt’s eastern Red Sea coast, is mild in winter but far warmer than the UK, with high temperatures of around 22C and lows of around 11C, the Independent reports.
EasyJet says the bargain price is based on flights departing Gatwick and Bristol on 3 January, or Manchester and Luton on 4 January.

Researchers for EasyJet Holidays calculated that the typical person spends £877 on household bills over 28 days.
This is made up of £415.33 on accommodation; £143.11 on groceries; £110.83 on eating out and takeaways; £105.78 on travel; £68.06 on gas and electric; £17.50 on phone and broadband; £12.06 on water; and £4.18 on TV streaming services.
Personal finance expert and ACMA management account Lynn Beattie said of the package: “The data collected in this study is incredibly insightful showing just how much the average household in the UK will spend on the most basic of living expenses. “While escaping abroad does not make all our financial commitments disappear, it’s startling to know that like for like, it’s cheaper to buy an all-inclusive holiday than stay in the UK this winter. For consumers who could viably sublet/Airbnb their homes and work abroad, the new package deal by easyJet holidays poses a very attractive offer.” Matt Callaghan, easyJet holidays’ Customer & Operations Director added: “With a growing number of Brits now searching online to see if they can escape abroad this winter, we knew we needed to try to provide consumers with a solution. “We looked at everything an easyJet holidays package deal has to offer, and have been able to confirm that yes, comparably, our new 28-day winter escape is cheaper than staying at home this year.”
