Woman ends up with plastic forehead after falling asleep in the sun for 30 mins

Her forehead ended up peeling completely

A woman was reminded of the dangers of not wearing sunscreen on holiday after she was left with a ‘plastic’ forehead following a nap in the sun.

Back in June, beautician Sirin Murad was on holiday in Sunny Beach, Bulgaria, when she dozed off in the 21C heat.

The 21-year-old had forgotten to put any sunscreen on, and when she woke up she could feel that her face was slightly sore and red.

But she carried on with her holiday and didn’t think more of it.

Things were different the next day though.

Her face became extremely sore and her skin had become so tight on her face that when she furrowed her eyebrows it creased and looked like plastic.

Her skin had become so tight that it left her with a ‘plastic’ forehead (SWNS)

She had forgotten to put sunscreen on, but said she usually does SWNS)

Despite the shocking appearance, she decided not to seek medical attention, hoping it would clear up.

But things got worse before they got better, as her skin began to horrifically peel, leaving her face covered in patches of skin.

Her skin then began to peel (SWNS)

Almost two months after the incident, the 25-year-old from London says her skin “feels better than before” and “renewed.”

Sirin, from London, said: “At first it really didn’t feel like anything – it just felt a bit sore when I put pressure on it.

“It really hurt the next day but I actually got some relief when it started peeling. It didn’t hurt and I felt much better.

“Weirdly, my skin is great now. It even feels better than before, almost like it’s renewed.”

Sirin is now keen to raise awareness of the importance of wearing sunscreen and being safe in the sun.

She continued: “No matter how much you think that you’ll be fine or that your skin will not burn, always apply sunscreen. It’s definitely worth it.

“In my case, I genuinely forgot. I usually would do, but it just slipped my mind.”

As the old saying goes, once burnt, twice shy.
