“The smart plug will act as a WiFi client to test the internet connection," its sales pitch reads. "If the Internet fails to work, the ResetPlug will cycle power to the WiFi equipment to reset the Internet connection.”
After this,"the ResetPlug continues to cycle power every five minutes until the Internet works again.”
Considering more and more of our daily necessities like central heating and smoke alarms are controlled by our WiFi connections, this could be a worthwhile investment.
Although it was created for the American market, customers in the UK will be able to use it: "The ResetPlug works for outlets rated 90-260V AC. It should work so long as you get the proper physical adapters to change both the plug and the socket. Several international versions are coming soon."
