A fashion store is selling these pairs of dirty jeans for a little over £350

Sorry, we mean “heavily distressed” jeans.

“Heavily distressed” might be the term used by US department store Nordstrom for a recently released line of jeans, but one look at the accompanying pictures and most people would come up with more appropriate descriptions than that.

The jeans have taken the Internet by storm this week after they were discovered on the Nordstrom website, despite, according to CNN, being available for purchase in a number of stores for some time.

And despite looking like they’ve been worn by a man who’s done a hard day’s work on the farm or has just come from a competitive game of football on a muddy pitch, they don’t come cheap either, with customers asked to fork out a cool £353.74 to add them to their wardrobe.

Granted, there is a chance that potential customers would be enticed by the somewhat rugged look and it is that demographic that Nordstrom are trying to tap into with the following product description on their website.

“Heavily distressed medium-blue denim jeans in a comfortable straight-leg fit embody rugged, Americana workwear that’s seen some hard-working action with a crackled, caked-on muddy coating that shows you’re not afraid to get down and dirty.”

Maybe Mugatu might have been onto something with the ‘Derelicte’ collection after all…
