The days of junk food-fuelled gaming marathons could be numbered after an innovative start-up developed NASA-style food pouches that conveniently deliver essential nutrients.
Findings from a recent survey show that the average UK gamer spends 11 hours playing video games, with a staggering 78 per cent admitting to consuming copious amounts of junk food whilst doing so.
Video gaming has become an extremely popular activity over the past two years with over 50 per cent of the population embracing the hobby amidst the pandemic.
However, the latest findings unearth the potentially harmful side effects that prolonged sessions can cause on the health of gamers as lack of energy and motivation deter users from a healthy diet.

Popular food-tech startup, yfood, has outlined the benefits that consuming nutritionally complete food products can have on the diets of gamers who have a lack of time or accessibility to pause and whip up a healthy meal.
Their 'smart food' products can be easily consumed and deliver essential vitamins and minerals, or micronutrients, which would otherwise be lacking.
The pouches can be consumed immediately and will keep you full for up to 3 to 5 hours providing you with 7.5g of dietary fibre sourced from gluten-free oats and comprising 68 per cent of your daily protein needs.
Move over then, Cheesy Wotsits!
