Haha japes haha

Sergio Aguero scored a hat-trick in Manchester City’s 6-0 beatdown of Chelsea. A beating so bad Maurizio Sarri refused to shake Pep Guardiola’s hand at full time.

Sarri’s side were well beaten and could have been much more so with Aguero offered a sure tap in at the start of the game. He missed but more than made up for it.

It’s the worst defeat for Chelsea since they were beaten 7-0 by Nottingham Forest in 1991. Recently it isn’t even their first response-less drubbing in the last fortnight after Bournemouth battered them 4-0 at the end of January.

Big margins.

But while Sarri was busy ignoring Pep, there were on-field japes to be had. The players were shaking hands with their opposition and the match officials.

As Sergio Aguero made his way towards referee Mike Dean to collect the match ball for his hat-trick, as is tradition, Dean hid it up his jumper, as is not tradition.

Nothing like making the Manchester City striker equalling Alan Shearer’s record 11 Premier League hat-tricks all about yourself, Mike.

Manchester City’s next few fixtures see them face Newport County in the FA Cup and Schalke 04 in the Champions League,  before taking on Chelsea again, this time at Wembley in the League Cup.

Best of luck Maurizio.
