Our most tried and tested hangover cure has be ranked as Britain’s best sandwich.
To mark British Sandwich Week this week (May 8-14), food website Olive asked its users to vote for their favourite sarnie and big bacon came out on top.
Taking 12% of votes, the bacon butty was crowned triumphant, beating off prawn mayo with 10% and the BLT (surely that’s double parking bacon?) in third with 9%.
In remains unclear where the plucky underdog fish finger sandwich came.
As for the most quintessential British sandwich, the bacon butty was tied with cheese and pickle on 19% of the votes.
It’s good news, especially considering reports that bacon may be the key to a long life (even if though it might possibly turn you fertile).
May be also recommend you try making a bacon weave so you get bacon goodness in every bite.
So the bacon sandwich is Britain’s favourite. Now the only question is; red or brown sauce?
