Heinz’s combination of ketchup and mayonnaise ‘Mayochup’ is officially coming to the UK

The people have spoken

A People’s Vote has determined that Heinz’s combination of mayonnaise and ketchup should be brought to the UK following its launch in the US this week.

The condiment will be available in shops from next year after nearly 100,000 votes were received in a Twitter poll, with 57% in favour of Mayochup being brought to these rain-sodden isles. It follows a similar vote in the USA, which received almost a million votes and led to the sauce’s original creation.

For anyone wondering what exactly Mayochup is, the product in a combination of Heinz ketchup and Heinz mayo. It’s also known as fry sauce and something you’ve no doubt created a DIY version of in the past.

Martina Davis, Senior Brand Manager for Heinz [Seriously] Good Mayonnaise, said: “There has been an overwhelming outpouring of intrigue and interest in Mayochup over the past few days. We have listened to everybody and will be bringing Heinz Mayochup to saucy fans in the UK in 2019.

“We have started looking at how we can bring the perfect recipe for Heinz Mayochup to the UK and will provide more details in the near future. Stay tuned!”

I guess all there is to do now is wait for 2019.
