People are still not over the fact that it has been omitted.
Chocolate-lovers are making a plea for the reintroduction of the beloved Galaxy Truffle sweet from the festive Celebrations tub.
While everybody tends to have their own favourites when it come to the individual chocolates in a box of Celebrations, the Teasers and Truffle ones have always stood out as the king and queen of the selection.
Lets face it, everybody was disappointed when Mars brought out a limited edition ‘Bounty Centrepiece’ last year – a blue and white box stuffed to the brim with coconut-filled chocolate treats.
However, if that was a Galaxy Truffle box, it more than likely would have sold out in no time at all.
Popular Facebook page Great British Memes has well and truly mentioned the war by posting a meme of the beloved miniature treat along with the caption: “As we enter this festive period, we must never forget those we lost along the way.”
The triggering post prompted over 1.2k comments, mostly from people calling for the Galaxy Truffle to be given a second chance.
A Facebook user by the name of Lucy Zahnmaus wrote: “Honestly the biggest betrayal of our lives that they took these out.”
Sabrina Mepham wrote: “My favourite. Bring it back !!!! Same with the Coffee chocolate in the Roses !! They always get rid of the best ones.”
Catherine Wheldon commented: “A heinous and disgusting crime. Absolute tragedy!!! Justice for the Galaxy Truffle!!”
Brett Linforth wrote: “Another example of the best ones being taken out!”
Galaxy Truffles were a staple of Celebrations boxes until 2011, when they were replaced by the humble and much less glamorous Twix.
Chocolate lovers started an online petition in 2018, demanding Mars reverse the decision to remove the Galaxy Truffles.
The petition was started by Sean Duggan and had hoped to get the support of 10,000 people in total.
As of 2024 the campaign had only garnered just over 1,700 signatures.
